/usr/bin/ld: failed to set dynamic section sizes: File truncated

I was using rpmbuild to generate the icon prgramming language in a package, and I was stumped by this error message:

/usr/bin/ld: failed to set dynamic section sizes: File truncated

Google failed me, but I tried various things, and then this finally worked:

Code:
%build
make X-Configure name=linux
make -j 1
The "make X-Configure name=linux" is the configure step for the build.

The "-j 1" turns off the multiple simultaneous compile feature of gnu make; it appears in this circumstance, the make results were stomping on each other.

Interesting ...
Multiple cores actually causing problems

And nothing wrong with creating a thread and then marking it as solved right off the bat. Sounds like you did solve it and you are very helpfully documenting that occurrence so as to aid a future seeker.

Nice catch!
