Using C++ to place information on multiple shells

RIGHT, i hope this is a simple one, what i want to be able to do is write a c++ program to control the parallel port, eventually controlling some stepper motors.

To make the program as easy to use as possible a layout would be required such that we have coordinates shown on console / shell "Alt-F1", Status on "Alt-F2" and menu on "Alt-F3" is this at all possible?

Thank you for any help!!

Well you could write your application to recieve input/output via sockets and then write 3 seperate 'client' applications to interface with it. One to read the coordinates, one to read the status and one to submit commands to the application. Then launch the application and launch each 'client' application in it's own terminal window (of on "Alt-Fx"
