start daemon from cgi-bin via web-interface

Hello!

I am writting a c application to run from cgi-bin. I've made a link on index.htm like cgi-bin/myapplikation and when I click it program starts and works fine, but the problem is that it does not (and must not) return any content data so index.htm becomes white and an indicator of downloading keeps spinning and spinning while a program keeps working.

So the question: how to start it so, that you only click the link and the page remains on its place and you can work with it further?

PS: may be some perl|java|shell script?

Perhaps running your program it on the background is the answer, but it's unclear what you really want to achieve, and what is the problem you're facing actually ...
