Question Replacing PHP with Perl in Apache?

I've been using Apache/MySQL/PHP for a while, but for some fun I'd like to start doing pages in Perl. I know some Perl but I'm not sure how to integrate it into Apache PHP-style. Do I need mod_perl? That seems to be for creating modules (is this what I want to do?).

Thanks for any help!
