Make restore bootcd Debian

Hi

I've written a script that synchronizes automaticly over ssh to my server, and then rsyncs the client with it. Now I want to create a boot cd that loads my script at startup and rsyncs. I only need a minimum Debian, just enough to run the script of the cd and do it's job.

How do I start on this one and what tools should I use?

Thanks!

I've figured out I can modify the debian bootcd (net-install). Later on, I just build it to a new iso with mkisofs. Now I need to know how I can get the debian boot-cd, to fully automaticly install itself to a minimum installation. And where do I have to change what to make my script start as soon as debian runs?

The condensed version of what you want to do is:
You would download the debian boot iso and mount it on a loopback device. Copy the files into another directory where you can edit the startup scripts. Once you have finished editing the scripts you would run mkisofs on that directory to create a new bootable iso and burn that onto a cd.

NOTE: It shouldn't even have to be a debian bootable cd, any distro can do what you want for instance R.I.P (Recovery is Possible) would work and they have instructions that tell you exactly step-by-step how to do the above.

Thanks allready but I still can't manage it. I'm quite new to Linux you see. How can I make my Debian net-install read my preseed file? And where can I edit the system to open my script in the root section of the CD?

Look in the /etc/inittab file. There is a line which tells you the script which gets executed immediately after the inittab file is read. You would edit that script and have it execute your script.
