make command


Hi all, i was tried to install a program(mplayer) but everytime i was typing (make) it was saying (command not found)

i finally found that make was not install with the command (rpm -q make)


i got suse 9.1 and i got also gcc 3.3.3-41. So i got any idea on how to install the make command, i told myself that programmers would know. il someone know how please explain with more detail as possible cause i only use linux for about a week

Hi -

1. Go into "Yast2", Software, Install/Remove software.
2. Set Filter to "Search". Type "make" in the search box. Click "Search".
3. You should get a list of packages which include "make". Select it. Click "Accept".

yast find nothing when i type (make) so i guest its because the make command its not on the installation cd. thanks
