Linux Version of Dynamic Link Libraries

Myself and a friend are developing a CGI application and wish to know whether or not Linux has a similar method to DLL files and if so what are they and how could I use them for development in Kylix?

Thankyou in advance for your help.

They are called shared objects. Any file ending with .so are shared objects.

I don't know about Kylix, though you can create them with C++.

For thread followers.. to read a .so file and execute a function in it, you should use dlopen and dlsym. From what I know this only works with C like "so" tho.. Not C++

No worldmagic, I have used .so files in C++. I have created them and used them in C++. You can just use inheritence to access them in C++ :-)

But you have to give some options to the compiler for that ...
