Question KDE4 DCOP(dbus) & startkde replacements

Is there a tool like /opt/kde3/bin/dcop for controlling KDE4 apps from the command line i.e. for DBUS ?

Is there any alternative for running scripts on user shutdown/startup towards injecting hooks in /opt/kde3/bin/startkde?
~ For startup an entry to /opt/kde3/share/autostart can be added (anything like this for shutdown)
~ Unfortunately KDE4 does not seem to use /opt/kde3/bin/startkde for startup by default any more so that changes to this file have no effect.
