JTR, make your own rules


I´m not sure if this is the right place for my question, i think it is a programming releated qeriue, could some when help me make my own rules for john the ripper i am trying to download some from the net but i would like to learn to make my own and learn programming... thanks in advance..

Therules i like to make are things like = LiVeRpOoLfC, L1V3rP00l,Sh4D0W2 l1verpool182,liverpool183 etc.etc!

I can almost guarantee this is the wrong place for your question. Per the LQ rules, asking for information related to hacking/cracking is a bad thing.

Not to go off topic, but there are plenty of legitimate uses for password crackers, not the least of which is to launch it against your own account to see if your password is breakable.

Additionally, I believe there's nothing wrong with wanting to know _how_ a password cracker works. Explaining how to use one to break teh intarwebz is probably over the line.

Yes, I totally agree that there are plenty of legitimate uses for one, and wanting to know how isn't a bad thing either. But, in this context, we don't know if it's for legitimate use or not. No way of knowing....

I would agree and say that LQ is not the place for a discussion on how to use the John the ripper program. Closing thread.
