long story short i read a (not so informative) totorial about installing windows on a chromebook....i thought i could do it myself and accidently deleted the chrome OS, after about a week of searching i couldnt find a way to revert it, so i decided to install Ubuntu i wound up running out of room, so i tried it a second time, this time i clicked overwrite the existing data, and i got ubuntu working, everytime i turned it on it said a warning about efi having 100 bytes remaining (or something similar to that) then i got the same error but instead it said 0 bytes remaining. now it doesnt start ubuntu and when i try to launch it it lists a line of commands (?) and stops, and starts saying lvmetad is missing or not available....now i am running a live version of bodhi on a sd card to write this....
so i guess my question would be this, what would the best linux os be for me to use in my current situation? i considerd trying to install something like DSL but couldnt figure out how to make the bootable usb i used UNetbootin with its iso file and it didnt work...any suggestions at this point would be welcome xD thanks in advance i guess
update--i was able to get ubuntu to boot now but id still like to know if there are any small linux OS that would work well on a chromebook
so...when i try and burn the iso to a usb it doesnt work now
Had you already placed your Chromebook in developer mode?
What make and model is your Chromebook?
What OS and what program are you using to create the boot disk on?
Have you tried a different flash drive?
Snowpine had a good idea as well to get you going in the meantime.

its a lenovo chromebook n22, i currently have Ubuntu running on it
i managed to make the bootable usb with etcher, UNetbootin and multisystem wouldnt let me make it. but now it doesnt let me install the gallium os from the live usb, when i click install i get to about step 4 where it asks to make a password i click next and all it does is load. sorry if im making more problems
I would re-flash the MrChromebox firmware,
download the Braswell version of GalliumOS (https://galliumos.org/download - click the blue Braswell button)
Follow the directions here: https://wiki.galliumos.org/Installing
You also have the choice of dual-booting with the chrx script instructions on the same page

i did all that and now i got the gallium os installed and running on my chromebook, it even autoboots it ^.^
the only issue ive run into is the audio and bluetooth if there were any suggestions on how to get these to work it would be much appreciated
Good to go!
According to the GalliumOS site, bluetooth should be good to go on yours.
If not I would post a question on https://www.reddit.com/r/GalliumOS/.
The audio looks like it may depend on what audio chip you have: https://github.com/GalliumOS/gallium...tro/issues/270
Open a terminal and type lspci to see which audio chip you have.
After reading that link though it looks like they have a fix in the works.
