how to copy formatted text from office into html textarea

I am developing an webapplication which allows user to submit their proposal on line by answering a list of questions. This application requires that if the user would like to copy part of their answer from a pre-editted word file and past it in the text area. how to make sure that he will not lose all the format such as bold, tables and font during the pasting?

I am using php/apache/mysql in linux.

I have no any clue how to solve this problem. Anyone has some suggestion?

The user may use MS word processor, browser could be mozina, netscape and IE.

well there's always a way but phew, I wouldn't like to try it.
you can't dumbly transfer a proprietary format to another format.

Thanks, that is what I think. But I am not pretty sure when I posted this message.

I spend two days write a report to my boss to show him why it is not wise option.
