Question GTK window resize

I´m developping a program under GTK+ with gcc, so, there is a Window that have a graphic with GNUPlot. When I resize the Window I would like to resize the graphic. I´ve already did it with the event size_allocate, the problem is that it resizes for every pixel changed. I would like to know if there is something like button_release_event for GtkWindow

Thank you,

Eduardo Campos
