getting code to run on Debian Etch?

Hi all I've just updated my system from Debian Sarge to Etch, however I've found that my screen draw code no longer works, I presume because Etch now uses Xorg. What's missing is fuctions from #include <X11/extensions/xf86vmode.h>, such as XF86VidModeGetAllModeLines etc. Is there an easy way to fix this i.e. just replace my header file? Or does it involve a lot of work? Thanks

Make sure you install the "xserver-xorg-dev" package.

Also, make sure build-essential is installed.
