Deleting mail on the server

Dear fellow Linux programmings,

I am a little new a tcp/ip programming and have read up on it.

Problem:

I would like to delete all mail on the server but do not
know how to do this.

I willl slowly start to code a simple mail client to
download a users mail to a file so that this file can be
used for processing by another program.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

what server? postfix? sendmail? why a script? eh?

Hello rkettle,

Thank you for responsing to my problem.

My machine is Linux intel P3 and the MDA is sendmail.
My future goal is to write a simple mail client to
download the mail from an web server using
socket programming.

Web server is pop3.

Is there any books or sample code that could help me?

you don't need code... just use webmin... its easy to setup a mail server and mangage it, whatever mailserver you use,
