bash popups help please


Hi

I wrote a bash script that backups may files to an remote server .. I would like to have somesort of GUI popup so I can see when the script has finished.

curently I am using
xmessage is there something more preaty.. or something that I can use from Gnome because I use Gnome destop manager

Thanx .. I hope i was clear enought.

In GNOME you can use Zenity or libnotify and the notification-daemon. Plop this in a Bash script to use libnotify and the notification-daemon

An easy way,

if you are using putty to login

once the script is completed do a contiuous

xdialog is another commonly used tool for that and many other purposes.
