Is this based on Home or Work?

You seem to have missed System V Unix

I assumed that the poll related to types of *NIX environment as there are far too many specifics to list in any poll

I was referring to the "popular" *NIX OSīs for home computers.

I can't vote because you don't have Minix in the poll.

I use linux. Anyone else notice that the thread starter's name is fbsduser and they list opensuse and freedos and they voted for osx? That's funny!

Err...seriously? How can you expect to get unbiased votes on a Linux forum? Of course, I'll go Linux, since it's the one I've had the most experience with. I've messed around a little with *BSD and OI/OSOL, but they just seem...odd to me.

I am a Slackware user and Linux is proudly not Unix, so it shouldn't be included in the list.

*nix ... I'd have to say OpenBSD. And AIX as a close second. And in dead last I'd say Solaris.

I'm a Linux user who's dabbled in other *nixes-- a few BSD's and OpenIndiana. I could be wrong, but it seems like the other *nixes are behind. They have their niches, but Linux seems more feature rich and mature.
