MinGW/Msys: how to run PWD from Windows command line?

The following sequence works:

C:\>d:\apps\MinGW\msys\1.0\bin\sh.exe
sh-3.1$ pwd
/c
sh-3.1$ exit
exit

And the following is not:

C:\>d:\apps\MinGW\msys\1.0\bin\sh.exe pwd
/usr/bin/sh: /usr/bin/pwd: No such file or directory

I have MinGW in d:\apps\MinGW

Where does it take "/usr/bin" path? Such directory really doesn't exist.
