How can I go to the windows screen from the command line on suse, on run level 3?

How can I go to the windows screen from the command line on suse, on run level 3?

I am booting on run level 3, I try to bring up the windows desktop but typing "X" but it just takes me to a plain screen with an X for the curser.

Your talking about Xwindows right, not MS Windows...

If you booted to the command line RL 3 then you have to login first issue your PW then type "startx"
