Kplayer mplayer says i have no WMA

I have Kplayer installed also says mplayer-no gui. When I go to website to play video says I have no wma player installed. I thought kplayer was my mplayer front end. New to SMepis. How do I configure correctly, need help!Also need step by step command lines (if necessary.
Thanks

i had to install the w32 codec package to get Kaffeine to play wmv's. it's in the package manager if all of the repositories are checked.

Thanks, can you be more specific, I don't know if I have all repositories checked? also I have been looking for w 32 codecs, but havent seen them, when I find them what are my install commands? do I go to konqueror and select kaffiene as first video default in all categories? Just learning.

S Mepis seems better than other distros except for this issue. I like KDE, this is my only issue as I was able to resolve it with mplayer easier with other distro's, but I want to use s mepis if I can resolve this, Kaffiene is my video player of choice with this distro? over kplayer?

open the package manager (synaptic), click on settings, click on repositories, check all of them. close click re-load. search for w32, right-click, select "mark for installation", then select apply. you have to be careful which packages that you install with all of the repositories checked as some of them may break your Mepis installation. if you're using 3.4, don't update with them all checked as it broke mine. i'm using 6.01 & it held up fine.

got w32 codecs. Thanks! When I go to konqueror it doesn't show kplayer in my plugins. Does it play through Kaffeine? Am I missing a link to firefox? how did you get I went to yahoo movie trailer to test (which I used with other distro's) It says windows media player not installed (after video stream error). I must be missing some symbollic link to firefox. This is my only issue can you help me resolve it?

it says I have kplayer and mplayer no gui, so I need to add kmplayer as well? Will I have any conflicts?: it loaded kplayer, kaffeine, on fresh install so if I add kmplayer it should work?

search for the mozilla-plugin-vlc & install it. i used it on my past installs for web media. i use firefox instead of konqueror, but vlc worked great.

Put in mozplugger still no video; do have sound. now get this error;

xine kaffeine player

a problem occured loading lib or a decoder wmvdmod.dll

I have also tried loading mplayer now since i have never had problems with other distro's and mplayer, but now i get an error with mplayer about fonts?

Just had SuSE 10.0 working fine on this machine, would like to try Mepis but not going to waste time if I can't get video resolved
