When I run "kaffeine" from the command line, it starts, and this is what I see:
Code:
fpd@0[~]$ kaffeine
ASSERT: "i <= nodes" in /usr/share/qt3/include/qvaluelist.h (373)
DVB 0 : No such file or directory
DVB 1 : No such file or directory
DVB 2 : No such file or directory
DVB 3 : No such file or directory
fpd@0[~]$
Also, my version number is 0.7.1. What do you see?

I poked around and found that my qvaluelist.h does not exist here:

/usr/share/qt3/include/

it exists here:

/usr/include/qt3/

What happens when you put a copy of qvaluelist.h where I found my copy?

Do you get the same results if you use the command line sudo kaffeine?

Please, understand that I lack driver/developer skills, but in my linux-tinkerer-language, the error "no input method context" seems (to me) to say "I have no input FROM something," or "I have no DEFINED WAY to get something."

I looked through /usr/include/qt3/ and found many files referring to QInputContext, or QT_NO_IM (seems to mean "QuickTime - No Input Method"), a few in particular; qinputcontext.h qinputcontextplugin.h qinputcontextfactory.h which seems to want a "widget" or plug-in.

Does your sound work? Do other video/audio players work? If your sound driver is crashing and kaffeine wants a sound driver (which is crashing), maybe that is killing kaffeine.

Or, maybe Venus passing behind the Moon caused it...

Can you get a screen-capture (ksnapshot works), upload it to the web (get a free web site, like geocities) and post the link?
