AVI to Mpg

Hi
Have saved from VCR video clip 1.3 gb using Wayjet TV station
MS AVI file
Keno will not load this file
Need to convert this AVI to mpeg to burn with K3B
Any help with this

Otherwise MPEG files take a lot of disk space.

I understood that AVI files are much larger
My video is saved as AVI to burn them with K#B I need to convert them to MPg to play on any player Kino will not convert the AVI file

Have converted AVI file to Mpeg using Mepis version 7
No problem to use Kino to import then export and save as SMIL format 144mpeg Video
