I know that on one of the Mdk 9.2 CDs there is a rpm package called wireless-tools. Is it the one you are referring too? If so, this rpm installs (among other things...) the "iwconfig" command. It is kind of the "ifconfig" command for the wireless... Just do a "man" on "iwconfig", it should give you information about it.
When I tried to configured a wireless USB adapter (the Netgear's MA101 adapter), I did a lot of search and find out all the tools and configuration I needed. I was able to configure the wlan0. Now, I know your device is not the same but the technic should be.
thanks for trying to help mesh, those are good articles, but i they dont help me out much cause i dont have a usb card, nor is my card based of that atmel.
I have a cisco airnoet 350 PCI card.
so far all im trying to do is figure out how to make it known as wlan0 instead of eth0.
