I don't use Mandriva so I don't know whether or why it wouldn't be present unless config files are backed up automatically. However, a good program to backup to an extermal drive or a cd or dvd is dar. There is a kdar kde gui interface available. You can determine what you want backed up periodically, and have kdar export a shell script using dar to do that backup. You can use this script in a cron job if you want.
I've just checked the 32 and 64 bit mirrors and they both have k3b in the main repo. You can download it from the 64 bit directory of this mirror.
Hi thanks tried that after you suggested it. However there is an unresolved as it asks for libk3b so which is not there whereas all the lib64k3b library is.
I guess that is why it has been left out of the 2007 64 bit version?
Ark is missing as well and I can't unzip the .bz2 file. I can do .gz but have forgotten the reverse of the bzip2 command?
