After doing some things early in my LINUX days, for example trying to get the scanner working, my menu (I use KDE desktop) would disapear and I couldn't get onto root. Stupidly, rather than look for the solution, I just reinstalled the whole lot again!

I read somwhere that theres a command to get the menu back as it was but I don't know it.

Anyone know what it is? I want to try to connect my scanner again and don't want too much grief if it happens again. I understand this is a bug with 9.2, but a fixable one.

update-menus -v
There's a fix for it, just do a mandrake update.
