What configuration of mandriva for my new setup?

I just purchased my new setup off of newegg, and I was trying to figure out what version of Mandriva I need to have it run optimally.

Specs:
Dual ASUS HD 3870x2
8 gigs(2 gig x 4 sticks) ddr2 667
Dual E5410 2.33ghz Xeon's
2 750GB and 1 500GB Seagate Barracuda

I know I need the kernel with SMP support, but any other help would be greatly appreciated. Also, would there be any way for me to use the 32-bit version and still have my 8 gigs of ram supported? 64bit is such a hassle with all the incompatibility.

Hi, most modern kernels support smp out of the box and support 64gig of ram.

As for the rest, I think you will be ok.

Maybe you want a server, otherwise that will be a beefy desktop.

So you could try here...

and here...(a linux kernel driver database)

I thought 4 GB was the max that a 32 bit OS could address.

My mistake, thank you for pointing that out, and reminding me.

Sorry all.

regards, Glenn
