What do you mean by file viewer??? Konqueror??

try typing on the console: konqueror

XP should be under /mnt/windows/

You may want to make a link for konqueror on the desktop. Just right-click you desktop. On the dialog write "konqueror" as the command line, put the name and the icon and it´s done.

Assuming (for the sake of discussion) that you are using Konqueror as your "MS-Windows Explorer replacement", you will not see any "hard drives". In Linux, all drives are "mounted" to the root file system (usually under /mnt), and are not visible as separate entities. You need to know where (and IF) the drive is mounted, and then look in that directory.

As sekelsenmat said, by default, your Windows partition is found in /mnt/windows.

If this doesn't answer your question, please explain in more detail.

Take a look at the program KDiskFree (Kicker -> System -> Monitoring). It will show you a list of all of your partitions. If the drive you are looking for isn't mounted, mount it by right clicking on the partition and selecting mount. Then right click on it and select open in filemanager.

Are you referring to shortcut icons that were on your desktop that pointed to your hard drives?
