Trouble configuring hardware during install
After installing Linux (Mandrake 9.2 I believe) I come to the finishing configuration page. In the video configuration settings, I click 'test' and it says an error has occurred. I have a Powercolor Radeon 9600 Pro. I tried selecting ATI Radeon from the video card list but it gave me the same error. It seems no matter what I select it refuses to find it.
Same thing happens with my ethernet card. I have an on-board Asus Nforce2 ethernet card. It seems to detect it (and asks me if I have another one) and I say 'no'. But then it says 'Could not find ethernet device. Can not set up this device'.
Are there drivers for this or is the hardware just not supported?
I expect that this problem will also apply to my sound card (Sound Blaster Audigy) if I tried to configure that as we.l...
I installed Red Hat and got the gui going but all the games ran EXTREMELY slowly so I assume that it was running on generic drivers, or in software mode.
Can anyone help with this?
