Hi dear Mandrake users

I am running 9.2 at the moment
All works fine and stable, but the only thing that doesnt work is my lan connection. it's a level one Realtek thingy, and cant get i configured. i did some stuff with the wizzard, no luck. also manual.
i have to do some ifconfig hw ether stuff to spoof my mac adress ( my old card died, and didnt have the time to change the mac adress by my ISP). When i spoof my ethernet card (eth0) nothin wrong. but when i do dhclient i dont recieve any dhcp offers. Also when i try to make my connection static ( i always have the same ip, dhcp or static) the connection still doesnt work.
Does someone has the same problem ? is it a driver bug ?
i also have no firewall running or cumstimized rulez of packet filtering. The dhcp server of my isp is running!

Does someone know how to fix it ?

Is the card recognized? Run "dmesg | more" and look for the card. What output are you getting from ifconfig -a?

I spent a lot of time on this issue a few days ago, but under 9.1. There seems to be a spurious issue since 9.1 with ifconfig. Here's the thread with a diagnosis approach and the solution that worked for me at the bottom.
