Question Sound Problem

I get the following message Error while initializing the sound driver device:
default cant be opened for playback(no such file or directory) The sound server will continue using the null output device
Any help appreciated on how I can fix this .
I did have sound after installation but none now.

Edit Fixed --I cleaned all electronics round sound out area of motherboard with a dry toothbrush and checked the tightness of screws in the locality and voila. Thanks to me and nobody but me on this one!

Anybody else please this guy is a bit of a nutter with the ?? ?? and his thread is not relevant
I dont have sound as root or a user and apparently no device file--Edit the sound device appears to be created by the player eg Amarok
