Red face single user mode...

i have mandrake linux..i forgot the root passwd...when i try to boot single user mode, lilo boot prompt where the keyboard letter "i" not working. all other key are working properly...only "i" is the problem...what should do?...please help me....and i have changed the another key board....that also not working..i mean " i " key not working...

boot into rescue mode

mount ur root partion say in /mnt and ur ur root partition is /dev/hda3

mount /dev/hda3 /mnt

chroot /mnt

then run
passwd root

to set ur passwd

this can be done also if u have another linux or a live CD of LINUX like knoppix
