Refresh Rate

Does someone know how to change the refresh rate. It is by default in 85 and I don't know where to change it in the conf file.

First, you need to quit X
Then you need to be the user root
Then you need to edit the file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
Look for the section like this:
Code:
Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Eizo FlexScan T560i"
    HorizSync 31.5 - 82.0
    VertRefresh 50-90
EndSection
and change the VertRefresh line to something that you know will work.
Save the changes
Exit from being root
Restart X.

That is not what I wanted. I mean the rate that you use when you want to get better fonts. For example I am using 74 Hz and I want to use 60, how do I change that?

The... what?

Rate you use to get better fonts?

I'm scratching my head here, especially since you're asking about *lowering* your refresh rate, which I've never known anyone to do volunarily. Are you perhaps thinking of dots per square inch (dpi) of your fonts?

erm, i don't believe rates get you better fonts.. incorrect refresh values might make your screen flisker or wave annoyingly though. btw you can go to DrakConf for that ^_^ in the hardware part i think
