Can anyhow help me resolve this problem .. I can reboot the pc no problems either from command line or as normal .. but i notice when i to shut down the pc it will shows that it has killed all processes and when it gets to the finial stage it will just sit their an do nothing .. and it says powering down system an thats it then i would have to phycially push the shutdown button ...
I can't tell you the exact answer, but it's something your mobo has to support. If it supports it, then you have to set it up. I read a thread that explains this a while ago, so do a search on this....
Distribution: Xandros, Mandrake, FreeBSD, i like to tinker.

Rep:
mobo is short for motherboard.
i have the same "problem" on my laptop, it shuts down by itself, but does not power off. i guess it depends on the compatibility of that feature and mandrake.
I am using a laptop as well and just recently re-did my 9.1 install and all was working well, then it started hanging on "Sendng TERM to all processes..." and never recovers. I am forced to drop back and punt with the trusty ole power button. Not good, keeps messing with my file system because it was not umounted properly. Any suggestions where to look?
Thanks.
