You can play audio cds using xmms. Goto your playlist. Click on add directiory, and then select your cd rom drive it should be under /mnt/cdrom (it may have a number off of it). It's also important that you goto options>>preferences>> Audio I/O plugins and select the CD audio player plugin the click configure under the device tab make sure the "digital audio option" is selected under "play mode". after that just make sure the plugin is enabled and you should be fine.

Don't pay attention to that flame. They can't get linux to work themselves and are venting after the first attemt at installing. By the way, FreeBSD is no more or less difficult than most linux distros. Keep trucking with what you have, but feel free to try other things as well. There is a distro/OS for everyone.

Change the fs=udf:iso9660 section of that line to fs=auto and see if that changes things (reboot before you test)
