problems installing mandrake 10

hya,

ive d/l the image files for 10 official version, checked the md5 sig and tried
to install using my cdrom (liteon 52x).
the message appears and tells me the it cannot locate the intall (this after
the opening screen - enter to install / f1 for options).
i change to my cdrw and then it can read the image but stuck during the
install.

I see you checked the md5sum of your downloaded image, and had good downloaded image. Maybe try checking the md5sum of the cd itself to be sure you didn't have a problem during the burning of your cd? Check disk read surface for fingerprints, coffee drip? I've had to clean cd's in past due to read surface picking crap off my desk when I set cd down to write on it after the burn.
