Ok i am having a very very weird sound problem. The supposedly works but it plays when it wants to, like sometimes when i open up an application it would play a song, its very weird. So I tried playing an .swf file in Konqueror because i have flash player but there was no sound. Then i downloaded firefox and the swf file worked. I went to root after and wanted to put a shortcut on desktop and i think i may have changed some of the permissions. When i went back to my account the swf file played but there was no sound. I have a sound AWE card thats ISA .Can anyone help me?


My other problem is really a question. Anyways i just want to know how to get my two hard drives working as one hard drive. Is there something i can look at to help me. My final question is, is there like uninstallation for programs. Like windows has add/remove programs, what does Mandrake have?

I would appreciate if anyone could help me solve these problems.

BTW anyone know anyone good antivirus software for linux. I tried F-prot but its terminal based, so anyone know any other ones.

If you've been installing programs via rpm, you can use the graphical package remover in Programs>System>Configuration>Packaging.

ClamAV, with the KlamAV gui is a good tool if you're looking for opensource AV. AVG also has a Liinux version of their AV as well. Haven't used that one yet, so far I've been happy w/Klam.

Can't help you with the sound issue, as I'm having the same problem, and haven't figured it out yet...
