i am having a Pentium4 512mb ram system. i tried installing mandriva 2009 spring. it doesnt support 1024x768 resolution in my system which normally other distros do. i changed the resolution and then my system crashes while logging in the KDE. can anyone help me out.
thanks for the reply......but + and - didn't work. The kernel is 2.6.29 and i don't have any graphics card. I have a intel 845 chipset motherboard. I think it does not support any graphics card, only inbuilt graphics architecture.
I tried to reinstall but the installation was not proper because many packages were skipped during installation due to some error. and now it boots only into a command prompt. My problem is getting serious (I am making it serious and complex....i think)
I installed it from a DVD given with LFY magazine. I tried it again this time with a gnome desktop. It went smoothly i changed the resolution now its good but for one thing I want KDE
KDE-4.3.1 for Mandriva is available now. Check out the KDE ftp server of your choice in the stable branch, it is at:
stable/4.3.1/Mandriva/2009.1/x86_64/media/kde43
for the x86_64 architecture, and at:
stable/4.3.1/Mandriva/2009.1/i586/media/kde43
for the i586 architecture.
These are unofficial packages, and Mandriva's package manager complains about no (or invalid) signatures, but I think they are OK to use since they come from the official KDE ftp server. They are specifically packaged for use with Mandriva, and I have had no problems here. There are a significant number of bugs fixed since KDE-4.2.x.
