H'eya all
I just installed mandriva linux like an hour ago, then my pc rebooted after the installation finished (as expected). After the boot, i got a screen with 4 options: linux, linux something, nofail something and windows. After choosing linux, a screen with a light blue bar appeared (it had a big "FREE" written on it), and well after that nothing else happened, the bar didnt move at all. Oh, i tried choosing the other options as well, the second and third take me to a black screen and a lot of commands show up, and in the end i get an error and nothing happens. The forth option takes me to a black screen and absolutely nothing happens.
Well thats all lol
thanks for the help in advance yo
Error opening /dev/console!!!!: 2

unmounting old /sys
switchroot: mount failed: 22
kernel panic not syincing: attempted to kill init
Well, could you post your hardware specs? Either there are problems with configuring some hardware or your installation is corrupt. Have you checked the Md5 sums of your download AND the CD/DVD?
...happens to me, too! (See my post under "Kernel panic") I thought it was because of my RAID configuration (Which doesn't really make sense at all because the installer sees the RAID and recognizes it and asks me if it should use it) I am about ready to just give up on it!
I checked the md5 checksums and the numbers for CD2 and CD3 were both off! Crazy! I had followed the links on the Mandriva site and downloaded via Bitorrent. I am now re-downloading the two CD's and will try again. I'll keep you posted!
just download the dvd version. everything works fine for me except the wireless internet connection. so i have to install the driver manually. Wish you luck
I have downloaded the Mandriva 2007 Free ISO's from four different places and CD2 and CD3 never have correct md5 sums - in fact, they are consistently THE SAME! Anyone else have this problem?
Have you saved the new file in a different place? Would be reasonable. Have you checked that you are using the correct checksums for checking (correct version?)? That the result is always the same is bizarre indeed.
