Playing DVD in 2005 LE on HP laptop

When I try to start to start mplayer with the following in a shell:

mplayer dvd://1 -dvd-device /dev/hdc

I get the following output:

MPlayer 1.0pre6-3.4.3 (C) 2000-2004 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel Pentium 4/Xeon/Celeron Foster (Family: 8, Stepping: 9)

To get best performance, recompile MPlayer with --disable-runtime-cpudetection.

libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access
Reading disc structure, please wait...
There are 2 titles on this DVD.
There are 24 chapters in this DVD title.
There are 1 angles in this DVD title.
libdvdread: Invalid IFO for title 1 (VTS_01_0.IFO).
Cannot open the IFO file for DVD title 1.

I've tried all the dvd players that come with Mandriva 2005 LE. They all say I don't have permission or the DVD is encripted.

I've Googled this problem without any luck in solving it. I have libdvdcss and libdvdread installed but I still can't play DVD's. I've had the DVD playing with a different distribution (Suse9.2). When I boot into Windows XP it plays..

Any help solving this problem would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Bill Dika
