this seems to be a problem for a lot of people but i dont know how to fix it. i dont have any sound when i installed mandrake. i am on it currently. my sound card is a Cirrus CS4610/1 CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio. i read that you have to turn up the volume but i have no idea how to do this. when i go to Kmix i get this http://img16.photobucket.com/albums/...atnot/kmix.jpg

i dont know what to do can somebody help me?

if you have a graphical desktop, do this:
open up an editor such as kedit and open the file /etc/modules.conf. Now save a backup copy as /etc/modules.conf.bak, then copy and paste the above in the original file and save it. reboot and see if your sound is working now.
