Question No sound midi!

MDK 9.2.
Midi used to work with sound blaster.
But this time does not.(Gigabite 5-SMM on boad sound card).
Also is it possible to use sound card when on boad card exists?

I am not positive about 9.2, but....

The emu10k sound driver seems to have problems with midi. It does on my Mdk 10.1 system, anyway. (I never checked it out under 9.2, so I can't say yes or no, for sure, there.)

And to use the card when on-board exists - I had to turn off my on-board sound in the BIOS. That made my Soundblaset the only sound device that Linux sees.

Yup, I can verify that.

Under 9.2 a whole lot of tweaking was required to get midi to function properly.

Under 10.1 it's automatic.

Time to upgrade.

I spent a lot of time googling, to find this. I had looked at it a few months ago when I first noticed I didn't have any midi sound with my SBLive card:

Maybe I just haven't tried tweaking mine enough, but I just decided to live without midi for now.
