mixer_applet2 hangs (GNOME)

GNOME's loading panel displays the name of each component it's loading, one by one. I've just installed Mandrake 10 Community and I use GNOME, and it always ALWAYS gets stuck at "mixer_applet2". This doesn't take away from the functionality of GNOME because everything else loads in the background and the panel goes away with a click, but I'm also having some sound concerns and I think that mixer_applet2 thing is connected. Does anyone have any insight about what might be causing GNOME's loader to stop like that?

Hi,
You are lucky to use GNOME that loads inspite of a failing module. Well for me I was used to KDE and it failed to load under Mandrake Linux 10.0 Official as well as Community probably because the Wireless Network card was not properly installed in my desktop.
