Menu editor

Hi again, got a problem that I suppose isn't actually related to the fact that I am using mandriva spring - more of a case of some system setting.

Anyway, my mandriva is installed in Swedish and I only have Swedish as a choice of language in open office. My problem is when I try to write in Swedish - using the three extra letters, å, Ä, Ö I can't save my changes using those letters.

Sorry, I am adding more entries to my menu list. There are actual usages of the above letters - but they followed with the installation of mandriva.

Is there anyone that can help me? When I try to save my menu additions I end up with symbols instead of letters.

Must be a system setting?

I can think of 2 problems:
1. try to set another character set, make sure that characters set contains those special letters (try here: start->system->KDE->Apearens and themes->Characters
2. or maybe you've got the wrong character coding
Workaround the first one and if that doas'nt solve you're problem we try the second one

Hi pilatus666

Thanks so much for replying. I have been on holiday and haven't had time to work with your ideas - but will report back to you in the near future.

Thanks again.
