Pushing the i key...

I keep tapping the i key until it asks a question,

there is no other input that I'm aware of, and it does no harm.

read my earlier post and do it. you do not need to push the i key.

I was going to suggest rpm -Va, but I see it was suggested above.

I had a vaguely similar problem a while back. That is, it would boot OK and run fine for a while and then just die--turn itself completely off. But in my case, it turned out to not be software at all, but the power supply was slowly dying. When I replaced it I had no more problem.
