Can any one point me in the right direction.......
I have installed mandriva 2009.0 free onto a Dell Latitude E5500, dual booting with winxp (every device are operational here) , however this is not the case with mandriva 2009.0; display=ok, wifi= ok, sound=No??
We had a similar question a few days ago..so we'll see if I can go 2 for 2 with sound. On your volume control, right click it, select open volume control. Make sure nothing is muted. Go to edit in the volume control and select preferences. Make sure everything is checked. Check the volume control again and make sure nothing is muted. It sucks, and I've felt like a moron for missing it a few times, but sometimes that's all that is wrong.

Hi MrChilly0,
I have checked the master control settings & preferences, all is well Here.
I have managed to get the sound working, after re-reading the Bug#44855 and Bug#44727 from the link, provided by Jolphil, I reformatted the linux partition of the hard disk, re-installed Mandriva 2009.0 (attaching the Dell E5500 to a physical network connection), than updated the newly installed Mandriva 2009.0 with the latest updates.
