mandrake on top of old distro

I am going to install mandrake 9.2 on my system which is currently a dual boot with windows 98 and Suse 8.2. GRUB is installed as a boot loader.

Mya question is will I have to delete Suse from the Linux side of the partition? Will I run in to problems on boot if GRUB is deleted along with SusE linux? Or will Mandrake give me a option of writting over the old distro?

if you mean you are going to replace suse with mandrake then during the install you will be prompted to reformat those partitions anyway. if you do not follow on to install grub again grub will fail as it will be trying to access a file from suse which no longer exists.
