Mandrake 9.2 Sound Problems

OK. I have a Dell Inspiron 5100. I've installed 9.2 but I get no sound. I've checked the configuration and have drivers installed, but can't get any sound.

Suggestions?

Are you using the ALSA driver? If so, you need to make sure all the volume controls are set right, as I had to fiddle to get mine working. It was matter of just seeing what worked and what didn't, and getting the right stuff selected.. good luck!

Well, I've managed to get some sound working. But it's a little off. I have the sound from Cisco IP phones set for incoming IM sounds, but it doesn't sound right. Regular MP3's are ok though.

It's just a little weird.
