I use mandrake 9.2 (download edition) and I want to try making a driver. The readme says I need kernel source that I don't think came with 9.2.
How can I find out what kernel source to get?
If some one could save me hours of searching it would be great. I have searched this forum and found a lot of specific kernel source hits but didn't see the answer to my question.
Is default location for kernel-src /usr/src/ ?
I downloaded kernel source rpm but when I go to open it a wimdow opens from software installer saying "everythings already installed"
I go looking for kernel source thats already installed but haven't yet found anything and didn't really expect to find kernel source from what I've heard bout mandrake 9.2 not coming with it.
What could be my problem?
Thanks for any help
EDIT:
Scratch this post. I dont know for sure if this is what allowed the downloaded kernel source to install but I ran "updatedb" then clicked on the downloaded file and this time the package manager went ahead and installed it to /usr/src/
Thanks for the help.
