mandrake 9.1 installation

i am having problem installing mandrake 9.1 on a laptop
the pcmcia card is not supported and during installation it is crashing
so what the command to disable the usb and pcmcia..i have done it once and it worked but i forget what was the command ,,all i recall is something like this and i might be wrong
no autoporb no pcmcia....

Mandrake 9.2 is better. Use it.

How can you be sure Mandrake 9.2 will solve the problem?

Im not sure but Mandrake 9.2 has better hardware support because it is newer. to be sure, CHeck the supported hardware on http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/hardware.php3 and see if youre card is supported.

i have tried to install mandrake 9.2 but seems to be not supported by my pc and couldnt installed it
