Hi

I have a weird problem with printing. I have a HP DeskJet 840C printer. It detects ok in MCC and testpage works also. I can print from Opera, but with progs like GEdit, KEdit, KWrite and KMail the prog freezes when the "printing" window pops up. I have upgraded all packages that has something to do with printing through urpmi. The printer is now connected with LPT, but I tried also with USB. Anyone heard of this kind of problems?

Oh yeah.. I am using XFCE, but have also tried on KDE. So that's not it. I thought this thread would be best on Mandrake forum, since this does not seem to be a cups etc. problem...or?

I tried a couple of other programs. Printing also works with Gimp.

The progs with problems printing are:
KMail
KWrite
KEdit
GEdit
Abiword

What's in common in these programs? Maybe that is where the solution lies.
