Mandrake 10 does not detect installation CD

I have downloaded the official ISO for Mandrake 10 and I burned all three of them into CDs.

I insert the CD 1 under XP then it reboot my system, which is a normal thing, but then it does not want to boot up from the CD.

I create the boot diskette and restart my system again. Now, it boot the CD but there is an error msg something like this:

CD inside the CD-ROM is not Mandrake Installation Disk.
Insert another disk?

Yes ---------- No ----------- Back

I have tried all the 3 CDs but none of them work.

help please...

thanks

did you burn the ISO's properly? IE: you must burn as image, not just put the ISO's themselves on a CD.

Mandrake 10 Install CD

Did you get an answer to your question ? I am having the same problem. I have successfully install Mandrake 10 but when I try to install an RPM it asks for the Install CD but won't recognize the CD. I am beginning to wonder if CD #1 is really the Install CD.

Thanks,
Jim Reynolds

Perhaps something happened during the download or the burning of the cd, you could visit http://www.xplinux.biz/shop/ and buy the distro of your choice. Thats what I did, no burner ,mandrake cost like 10 bucks. Just a thought. I had no install problems
